456 Joo Chiat Road
Ya.. its that Taiwanese food place again… Tried three new dishes when we went here a botu a few weeks ago….
This is their oyster meesua….
Their pork chop rice…. Very big portions… The pork chop tastes authentic… Lol.. Nostalgic in fact… *Imagines self in one of those Taiwanese food stores outside camps…..
A very milky bubble milk tea….

Grilled Cheese Sausage with Sauerkraut and Mashed Potatoes… Werner’s has the best sausage I have tasted…… Lolx.. Mebbe its just bcos I haven’t tried enough or something…. The mashed potatoes is really yummy too….
Knusperiege Schweinehaxe with Sauerkraut and Mashed Potatoes… Well… This is a actually deep fried pork knuckles… Not knuckles as in the knuckles you have in your fist, but rather like a cross-section of the pig’s leg? This can taste a bit “porky” (as how some pple puts it…), but it was really nicely done, with crispy skin and stuff… And ya.. The sauerkraut does help rid one’s mouth of the “porky” taste….. But I don’t really mind it as a side dish… *Think sauerkraut tastes interesting….
Marutama @ The Central
The standard $12 ramen with chicken broth….. +$1 for the egg…. Well… I like it… The chicken broth (dunno y ppl dun like this… It tastes like home-made chicken soup, that my grandma boils…), the egg (half boiled and slightly seasoned…), the seaweed and the sliced pork… Definitely more suited to Singaporean tastebuds than Miharu which was a tad saltish…. Wouldn’t mind trying again… Although it is really quite EX…
Daikon…. (Its tastes like how its supposed to taste like? Radish….) Could taste traces of dried scallops tho… Prolly not ordering this next time…
Azabu Sabo @ The Central
Desert — Hokkaido Hotballs with dumplings (actually more like dangos) and red bean paste… Tasted interesting…. Fried balls of flour with custard in it…Topped with a vanilla ice cream (which was not bad)…
This one comes with sweet potato instead of dumpling/dango….. I think a shaved ice would have been more satisfying compared to Hokkaido Hotballs… But should try different stuff now and then….
Cheese Cake from Hokkaido Fair @ Isetan Scotts (Shaw House)…
Couldn’t resist buying after trying twice on different occasions….
Only Japanese products get packaged so nicely???!?!
It wasn’t really a cake but more like a very large helping of cheese (which took 5 people to finish)…… The cheese was very smooth and tasted just right…. Too bad today’s like the last day of the fair….
Sakae @ Parkway
Teppanyaki cravings of Mel led us to Sakae at Parkway where we shared beef, chicken, and also this….
Okonomiyaki…. Lol… The uncle next to us was like staring at the chef prepare this… He even asked him what it was…. Its actually Kansai-styled vegetable pancake with a generous helping of “the moving thing”, brown sauce and mayonaise……. Really enjoyed it…. And I guess the chef enjoyed making it too… Hope to go back there and eat it again!
